i3DP is an industrial 3D printer that uses the selective laser sintering process. A metal powder is fused layer by layer by a laser, creating a workpiece in the powder bed.

The machine is equipped with an innovative carousel mechanism that enables an efficient operating sequence: The two powder beds rotate independently around the central axis. This concept enables the workpieces to be transported from the process chamber to the workbench chamber for post-processing without having to leave the machine. The downtime of the machine is thus reduced enormously and handling is simplified to the maximum.
