FAZ magazine about our UV-C design study "HiFive"
We are pleased about the foundation of the UV-C Initiative, consisting of research institutes, fluid mechanics and scientists as well as potential manufacturers. The initiative has set itself the goal of developing economical, user-friendly and smart system solutions eliminating the viral load in closed spaces.
In his article "It's in the air" in the FAZ magazine of 31.10.2020 Thomas Edelmann describes the approach of Barski Design to such topics: " . . . The designer Olaf Barski is active in this field. Some of the things he designs, such as a headrest system for neurosurgical operations, are not something you want to come into contact with voluntarily. That makes it all the more important that they work perfectly where they are needed. Barski prefers to see results quickly; he wants to implement his ideas, which he often starts without a commission, soon. So he researched on UV-C, read newspaper reports, analyzed offers and product constellations. The world market leader Philips, whose lighting division is now called Signify, has increased the production of such products eightfold since the beginning of the pandemic. Barski also talked to his customers, with a production partner he wants to build a prototype quickly. He is interested in removing the virus-containing aerosols from the ambient air and has already contacted fluid mechanics for this purpose...".
