The new DB Call a Bike 5.0 is presented in Berlin
Suitability for everyday use, durability, differentiation from competitors, value at Deutsche Bahn level, signature design, also for the future e-bike generation - these were the challenging requirements for the new bicycle design of "Call a Bike" the market leader DB Connect. In cooperation with Scholz & Volkmer this challenge was mastered successfully. The prototype was presented a few weeks ago at the GREENTECH FESTIVAL in Berlin by former Formula 1 World Champion Nico Rosberg and Renate Künast, member of the Bundestag and the ecological party “Die Grünen”.
With the 5th generation of the Call a Bike rental bike, Deutsche Bahn is focusing on modern design and intelligent networking. The new bike model in ICE design has some technical innovations to offer: Instead of entering the bike number, a QR code can be scanned with the app. And LED lights reveal whether the bike is available even from a distance. Photovoltaic cells supply the smart lock with CO2-neutral electricity.
