01.12.2011   "Brand New Germany" auf der Business Of Design Week in Hong Kong
Together with 14 other design studios of the ddc (Deutscher Designer Club) Barski Design will present itself at the Business Of Design Week in Hong Kong (BODW) from 1rst to 3rd of december. The BODW has grown to one of the leading design- and branding-events in Asia. In 2011, Germany is partner country under the motto „Brand New Germany“. Backed by BMWi, Rat für Formgebung and the IDZ (Internationales Design Zentrum) it will exhibit innovative design.
02.11.2011   China International Creative Design Week 2011
At this years`China International Creative Design Week, which takes place from the 2nd to 4th of november in Chengdu, Olaf Barski will talk about designers' future. At the China International Design Management Seminar in Peking he will subsequently speak about „Innovation as Strategy“, alongside with Karin-Beate Phillips and Tim Stevens (BEDG/British European Design Group, London), Davin Stowell (Smart Design, New York), John Barrett (Teague, Seattle) and other internationally renowned designers.

Olaf Barski is invited to be a member of the jury for the Good Design 2011 award of the German Designer Club (DDC) in the category "future". Every year, the DDC awards good design in 11 design disciplines. The category "future" honors outstanding student projects which propose forward-looking design solutions and visions.
16.09.2011   Light Frame in Bremen
The first passenger shelters of the design line Light Frame will be set up in Bremen. Barski Design exclusively designed Light Frame for Telekom Germany and the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen. With its calm and well-balanced appearence, the street furniture fits perfectly into the north german cityscape.

HÅG Scandinavian Business Seating, one of Europe's leading manufacturers of office chairs and seating has staged a creative workshop under the headline "The future of seating". Guided by Cecilie Schjerven the designers Prof. Sabine Winkler, Veit Streitenberger and Olaf Barski discussed trends and innovations at the workplace.
07.06.2011   Republic of Culture in Ffm
„Republic of Culture“, the excellence initiative for culture without boundaries launches its Frankfurt network on 07.06.2011. RoC is a merger of  creative minds in Freiburg, Frankfurt and Stuttgart in keeping with the slogan „Lust auf Gut“ (In the mood for good). The magazine of the same name - in which also Barski Design is represented as a citizen of the „Republic of Culture“ - offers an interesting view of sophisticated artists, designers, galleries, shops and brands from these three cities.
14.05.2011   The world's longest reading at Museum der Dinge, Berlin
During 12 hours of non-stop reading, more than 100 co-authors read from the book „Lesikon der visuellen Kommunikation“ by Juli Gudehus. The 3.000-page design book containing 9.704 headwords and 42.029 entries explains anything around visual communication from beginning to finishing, from visual design to web design, from love to war. As one of the 3.513 co-authors Olaf Barski has contributed several definitions.
18.03.2011   Creative workshop "Cleaning Applications"
MATERIAL CONNEXION COLOGNE organizes an ideation workshop dealing with the subject „innovations and new applications in the areas cleaning and washing“. Among those invited are visionaries and experts from several different industries and disciplines, e.g. the Berlin-based Molecular Cook David Marx as well as the Designers Frederik van Heereveld and Olaf Barski.
15.03.2011   Red Dot Design Award
Barski Design wins one of the coveted Red Dot Design Awards. The HD 380 WSI-V manual sealer, which Barski Design developed for Hawo is awarded with the international renowned Design Award for its high design quality. The award ceremony will take place at Alvar Aalto Theatre in Essen, on July 04.

Barski Design wins two iF product design awards of the International Forum Design, Hanover for the rotary sealer HD 680 DE and the manual sealer HD 320 MS-8 for Hawo.

Even three products of Barski Design are nominated for the award of the awards, the design award of the Federal Republic of Germany 2011: the shelter TREE for Telekom Deutschland and the two sealers HD 320 MS-8 and HD 680 DE for Hawo.
07.01.2011   Urban furniture for Bremen
Beginning with early 2011, the first pieces of urban furniture and advertising media by Deutsche Telekom are being erected in the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen. The citylight-posters, citylight-columns and megalight-posters are part of the range of urban furniture designed by Barski Design exclusively for Bremen, which helped Deutsche Telekom to land the contract to market the city’s advertising space.
