Together with Aldo Cibic, Alviero Martini, Laura Giugiaro, Teresa Sapey and Tanaka Hiroaki Olaf Barski takes part in the BDCI 2006 Shenzhen, China. Subject of his speech is “Human Design in Medical Equipment ?”.
With
the help of this series of lectures the BDCI (Brands and Designers China Initiative) wants to support the position of designers in economy. The international event is aimed at increasing the level of design education, broaden the horizon and exchange knowledge and abilities

Olaf Barski is lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences Wiesbaden, Design Informatics Media, Department Design."The University of Applied Sciences RheinMain has got a good geographical position, a consequent close range to the market and to the society, research activities and a closeness to practice and real life. The operation luminaire Stella is nominated for the Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany 2007, the “Award of the awards” of design.
"Stella
- an innovative operation luminaire that combines halogen and gas discharge technology. Extensive, shadow-controlled light with additional depth illumination, rich in contrast, can light the wound perfectly. The control of the light occurs via a sterile handle or with a separate control panel directly used by the surgeon. Stella convinces by its ergonomic form, its flexibility and best hygienic characteristics."

The
Pininfarina Sponsorship Award is a possibility for young designers to present themselves in public and to compete with others on a professional level.

Barski Design wins the iF Product Design Award 2006 of the International Forum Design, Hannover and the Good Design Award of the Chicago Athenaeum, Museum of Architecture and Design for the operation luminaire Stella, which has been created for Dräger Medical by Barski Design.
Since
their introduction in the year 1953, the iF design awards have been a reliable indicator of outstanding quality in design.
